About

I'm a Critical Facility Engineer on Meta's FacOps team in Montgomery, AL, supporting a gigawatt-scale hyperscale data center campus — AI-optimized and among the largest data center sites in the world. My job is keeping the mechanical, electrical, and control systems behind some of the busiest AI workloads running 24×7.

Before Meta I spent eight years in commercial and industrial HVAC/R — most recently servicing dialysis centers and healthcare critical infrastructure, where equipment failure isn't an option. Large-scale chillers, CRAC units with glycol loops, VRF and DX systems, BACnet/BMS controls, and the procedure-based work it takes to do all of it without disrupting operations.

I'm at my best where mechanical, electrical, and controls overlap and the wrong move costs uptime.

Experience

  1. Critical Facility Engineer · FacOps, South Region

    · Meta
    2025-12 — Present · Montgomery, AL
    • Operate and maintain mission-critical mechanical, electrical, and control systems across a gigawatt-scale hyperscale data center campus — AI-optimized and among the largest sites in the world.
    • Completed the full FacOps Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS-CP1) and Campus Management & Control Center (CMCC) qualification — covers substation-to-server electrical, critical cooling (DH + core), industrial water, generators, fire/life safety, controls, and operations.
    • Qualified Authorized Electrical Person and Qualified HV/MV Operator; trained on MV arc-resistant gas-insulated switchgear (MSG-A/MSG-B) and site-specific HV/MV substation operations.
    • Day-to-day work on BMS, SCADA, UPS/STC/PDU power distribution, chilled-water AHUs, air-cooled chillers, direct evaporative cooling, and refrigeration troubleshooting.
    • Procedure-driven environment — MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, F@ST independent verification, LOTO, NFPA 70E. Work orders managed in Hexagon EAM.

  2. Service Technician, Level 3

    · Advance Industrial Mechanical
    2023-11 — 2025-11 · Tampa, FL
    • Operated and maintained industrial and commercial HVAC/R inside dialysis centers and healthcare critical infrastructure — environments where, like a data center, equipment failure is not an option.
    • Serviced Liebert and other CRAC units integrated with dry coolers and glycol loops, holding precise temperature and humidity in critical environments.
    • Troubleshot large-scale chillers (water distribution and treatment), VRF, DX cooling, DOAS, and commercial refrigeration; maintained pumps, VFDs, and electrical distribution.
    • Installed, troubleshot, and optimized low-voltage controls over BACnet and BMS; supported control-room remote monitoring.
    • Interpreted blueprints, CAD, and equipment shop drawings; QA/QC on retrofits; managed vendors and subcontractors on-site.
